Given Half The Chance, The Body Will Heal Itself

photo credit www.dailyheal.comIt’s been said “what you put in, is what you get out.” I believe this whole-heartedly! If you take care of your body’s needs with good nurturing foods, exercise, adequate sleep, lots of water, rid your body of vices, (smoking, heavy drinking, stress) nurture your soul and truly take care of your mind, body, and soul, it will repair itself from disease, injury, illness, fatigue, malnutrition, and stress.

The body is an incredible machine. You just have to give it a chance. I’ve seen people reverse their diseases, repair injuries, lose excessive weight, fight chronic illness and cancer, and transform their health, lives, future just by what they put into their bodies. Not to say you have to become a radical 100% of the time and give up everything you love, brings your comfort, motivates you, or soothes and relaxes you.

But with the epidemic of this country and the entire world with diabetes, cancer, heart disease and obesity. Isn’t enough, enough? Aren’t we all sick and tired of being sick? The mindset that a pill will fix it all, has got to go! We all need to start putting some effort into our lives and stop looking for the big pharmaceutical companies to find us a quick cure. We need to take back our health and our family’s health. As sad as it may be there is no quick fix and we’ve become the society always looking for a faster way. Quicker way to eat, cook, clean, travel, work, take care of our children and ourselves.

Isn’t it time to slow down and enjoy our families, time, the food we eat, that gives us the energy, strength, and health we all deserve. It’s a new year and a new time to begin or start over. We need to start by viewing what we do to ourselves on a daily basis. How DSC_8746many hours of sleep do you get? Glasses of water? How many vegetables do you eat a day? How many are green? How much time do you actually spend with family? Any exercise or fresh air for the day? I know boring right?? How about reversing it? How many cups of coffee are you consuming? How many runs through fast food drive thrus or meals did you skip? How many days did you actually make it to the gym or to a class?

Simple changes that require a little more time and probably a lot more effort. But in the long run, the body will heal itself if only given half the chance with out that little purple pill you keep seeing on the commercials everyday. Here’s to your health in 2013!! NOW just go out and start with one change. It could make all the difference in your life!

  1. What a motivating post, Kelly. Our bodies are such magnificent machines and we should treat them with respect. I’m by no means an example, but I do try very hard to give consideration to my choices and options. This was a very inspirational post as we go into the new year. 🙂

    • Thanks Sweet lady! Sometimes I think we just need that little nudge to get us going! And I think we all want a quick fix, when the answer is lying right in front of us. We don’t need a magic pill to fix it, we just have to put ourselves first! Glad you liked it! I was missing you for a while there! 😉
