Celebrate Fourth of July with a Beach Bash!

Whether you’re celebrating the fourth this weekend or next. Throw a beach bash for a fun and memorable way to celebrate with friends and family.

Living only 5 miles from the beach, we tend to take it for granted, just like living close to any cultured filled city or snow-covered mountain. This year, I vowed to get there more than a handful of times like most of my summers. So, this year we decided to go big or not go at all!

A few weeks ago we celebrated my birthday on Assateague Island. We gathered up the kids and our close friends, packed the car with sand toys, beach games, even a couple of acoustic guitars. We tied down the surf boards and filled the rod holders with anticipating fishing rods. Stocked the coolers with cold beer and my favorite, Prosecco! (Italian Champagne) Not to mention the fresh shrimp, lobsters, and king crab legs from our local seafood market.

After we got our selves all settled and the kids were happily lathered up and coated in sand and surf. We dug our hole and lit the campfire. In no time we had spicy grilled shrimp, mouth-watering lobster, and unforgettable crab legs. We washed it down with local beer, a couple of glasses of Prosecco, and I was in birthday heaven!

As the sun began to set behind the dunes, we loaded up our skewers with gooey roasted marshmallows, smothered them in chocolate, topped them off with crunchy graham crackers, while we listened to the hum of the guitars!  It definitely was the best day at the beach in a very long time. And what made it even more special is we got to share it with the little ones enjoying the day even more than we did.

So, if you’re looking for some thing new and fun to do this Fourth of July. Why not celebrate with lobster and throw a beach bash? And don’t forget the camera to capture all your unforgettable memories! You’re guaranteed to catch some that’ll last a lifetime. Happy celebrating! Be safe and enjoy spending time with your loved ones!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the 4th! I live about 45 minutes from the beach, but unfortunately on the 4th it would take me two hours to get there! LOL! But we’ll be staying at the beach another week in July, and I think this would be a fabulous treat…a delayed celebration! Enjoy your special plans! Debra
